What’s trending

One of the most comment questions I get from clients is what colors are trending, and what If I pick a trendy color that goes out of style. My question back to them is how much do you like to paint! Usually, for those that like to keep the same paint colors for a few years, I say to choose a color pallets that you are drawn to. Most people can find that color inside their closet. The colors you choose to wear are usually the colors you also like to see inside your house. I often then suggest that if they want try any new trends to pick out a few throw pillow in those colors and take it out for a test drive first.  

However, if you are a person that likes to change things up a bit more often, then 2022 has a lot of options for you. Due to the pandemic, color trends for the past two years have been rooted in optimism, warmth, and growth. However this year, Pantone, one of the world’s color authorities, recently released their color prediction for 2022. It includes more bright hues hoping to give a “jolt of energy” to the bleakness of the pandemic.  Very Peri, a blue-purple hue, is its color choice for 2022. This color, as well as bright greens, reds, and yellows will be trending throughout the design world this year.
